CONCEPTION AND INCUBATION : Written By Alo Tosin Segun

Every journey to greatness in life must start with the conception of an idea, vision, purpose, goal, and desires.

Even our salvation and redemption was as a result of the conception of our Saviour (Jesus Christ) through the help of the Holy Spirit [Matthew 1:18-25].

In the formation of a child, there is a movement of the sperm through the vagina into the uterus to join an egg in the fallopian tube, then CONCEPTION occurs. Before conception occurs there is need to have a good understanding of time or period in which the woman is, to know when she is fertile enough to conceive a baby.

All believers must be spiritually sensitive to understand the move of God per time and learn to connect to God during that time because each time is meant for a purpose under the heaven just like King Solomon said in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

The children of Issachar had the understanding of time and this gave them the wisdom to know what the Israelite should do at every given time and also Jesus rebuked His generation for not discerning the times; and Paul admonishes us to know the times in Romans 13: 11; And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now, our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

Every divine conception is in the womb of time, so understanding of time and season without worries or anxieties brings about the conception of divine ideas, vision, purpose, aspirations within us. Upon conception there is a need for every conceived idea, vision, goal, purpose, aspiration to go through a particular period of development and this period is called INBUCATION.

Everything in life requires this process of incubation to attain full maturity and harvest and this is also a function of time because there are start and end of incubation for everything.

God in His divine wisdom operated on this principle of conception and incubation in the creation of heaven and earth. In Genesis 1:1, the earth created was without form; and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep and it behold on our father to conceive an idea of a perfect earth than the initial creation.

This earth that we lived in have to go through the process of incubation of six (6) before the end product in which live in was made and God saw that it was good. It is also important to know that each day out of these 6 days were for different creatures and as the days were progressing the creation was getting better, so each day during the incubation period leads to full maturity of the product.

As Christians we must understand that God requires time to incubate us to full maturity of whatever assignment or calling he has given us and do not want us to be prematurely launched into the deep in order for us to achieve the desired result as intended by God for us.

As we all know it takes nine (9) months for a baby to be fully mature before delivery and any baby born before (9) nine months are premature baby that requires extra nursing and care before or after delivery for them to be strong enough like every other mature baby.

Amazingly at the 9th month when organs of the baby have fully formed to within stand the pressure in the world, the mother automatically goes into labour at the due date and the child will be delivered and same apply to us when God has fully incubated us, he deploys for his use at our due date.

DELAY DURING INCUBATION
Isaiah 55:8-9 – “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. ‘

God’s thought and ways are different from ours, so when we experience a delay in achieving our goal, vision, aspirations, etc. we must understand that he has a genuine reason for the delay which will definitely be to our advantage if we are working in alignment with his instruction and direction.

Often times the delay is to brings us to a place full maturity as said above in order to protect us from the act of immaturity that can lead to frustration after getting what we want. So we must learn to be patience and endurance during our incubation period because the more time spent, the more the challenges we tend to experience but the amazing thing during this period is that God is forever faithful to supply the needed GRACE to overcome those challenges.

DIFFERENT INCUBATION PERIOD
Our calling and assignment from God differs likewise our personal goal, aspiration, vision, purpose are different and the length of the incubation is a function of our calling and personal ambition or desire.

The kind of result we desire or envisaging from an assignment will also make a difference in the period of Incubation one goes through. Peter the Apostle in his book in 1 Peter 2:2, As a newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby, from conception through incubation to the full maturity, we must sincerely desire the word of God for us to grow and have absolute trust in him during these stages.

As we are growing in the knowledge of His word, this will make our faith also to increase in him rather than the INDOMIE (Get quick) approach that must of us as believers in this era always want to apply to things.
