Is gratitude your way of life? Gratitude The Will Of God.
Are you grateful to God about all things?
Are you grateful to God about the things you desire that are yet to come to pass?
Are you grateful to God about your past failures?
Do you know living a life full of gratitude to God make us to live according to His will?.
What is Gratitude?
Gratitude is the act of feeling and communicating appreciation for the people, circumstances, and material possessions in our lives. It allows us to cherish
our present status and feelings of abundance even right amid deprivation and lack.
Our Gratitude to God goes beyond mere feelings and communication, rather, it is an act of WORSHIP to our Father. Praising Him, celebrating Him and acknowledging His presence and goodness in our lives.
Appreciating God, always grants us access to the Supernatural because God dwells in the supernatural and he has created us to live and operate in the realm of supernatural here on earth.
It is important to note that for us to live a life of gratitude which is acceptable unto God, we must have a rebirth of our spirit that is, we must be born again
( Born anew in the nature of God). Consequently we now begin to experience an in dwelling of the Spirit of God which causes us to live supernaturally.
It is natural as humans to expect some level of appreciation in return for every act of benevolence we extend to someone else, as this tend to motivate a natural man to do more and strengthen mutual relationship. Likewise, our heavenly father expects us to always show gratitude to Him and in doing this through our Lord Jesus Christ, we keep constant fellowship and maintain cordial relationship with him.
King David was a man after God’s heart because he always showed gratitude to God. In Psalm 34:1 David said – “ I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
He was constantly and, in all times, giving gratitude to his creator, and through this he was getting protection, direction and became victorious in all battles.
The Psalmist also made us to know that there is a benefit meant for us on a daily basis and the access to it is through living a life full of gratitude. No wonder King David said – “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation” –
Psalm 68:19
As Christians, we have double benefits giving gratitude to God always. First of these benefits is living happily because this strengthens our relationship with God and secondly, showing gratitude is the will of God for us. Apostle Paul says ” giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” – Ephesians 5:20
Apostle Paul further admonishes the saints in Thessalonica to live joyfully and thankfully while they await the coming of the Lord.
1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 reads:
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
The will of God concerning us through Christ Jesus is to give thanks to God irrespective of the circumstances or situation we find ourselves. The book of 1st John 5:14 confirm that God hears or attends to our requests only when we ask according to his will; and His will is to give thanks to God through Jesus Christ. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us” – 1st John 5:14.
One of the texts in the epistle of Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6 further validates the acts of expressing gratitude as the key to answered prayers by God. The scriptures said we should pray and supplicate with thanksgiving, knowing full well that thanksgiving is the will of God and through this we can receive answers to our prayers.
“ Be careful of nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” – Philippians 4:6
My dear brethren, it is high time we live a life full of RADICAL GRATITUDE to God.
